WordPress weekly recap #5: JS docs initiative and more

This week the JS docs initiative was started to add inline documentation to all JS files of WordPress.

Core

JS docs initiative

There was an initiative announced »to get all JavaScript files in WordPress well-documented and make this documentation easily accessible«, as Anton Timmermans writes in his post »JS docs initiative: Add inline-docs for JavaScript!«. There is a list of all first-party JS files in the post with the status (if it is completed, claimed, or unclaimed).

The team would like to invite everyone to contribute on that, so if you would want to, check out the post where you can find the steps to follow.

WP-CLI 1.5.0

On January 31, the WP-CLI team released WP-CLI 1.5.0. The new release contains the feature of plugin checksum verification, which is currently limited to recent versions of plugins that are hosted on W.org.

Besides that, the ability to manipulate the wp-config.php was improved, and it is possible now to set and delete values with the new config set and config delete commands. More on the new release can be read in the post »Version 1.5.0 released« by Alain Schlesser.
