This week, WordPress 4.9.8 was released. It comes with a callout for trying the new Gutenberg editor.

WordPress 4.9.8

On August 2, the core team released WordPress 4.9.8. It comes with the »Try Gutenberg« callout – a box in the dashboard that asks the user to try the new editor or – if the user is not ready yet – to install the Classic Editor plugin.

Among that, there are several bug fixes and improvements for the privacy features that were added in 4.9.6. You can find more information about the new version in the release post »WordPress 4.9.8 Maintenance Release« by Paul Biron and a list of all changes in his post »WordPress 4.9.8«.
