For that, the readme format has to be the same as the format of plugin readmes. More on that in the post \u00bb<a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/themes\/2017\/07\/06\/upcoming-directory-changes\/\">Upcoming directory changes<\/a>\u00ab by Jose Castaneda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WP-CLI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Questions regarding new feature development<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The WP-CLI package index is currently on hold for new submissions. The index has the same problems as the plugin directory, with packages which are no longer maintained after a while, or different implementations of the same feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, the team has three different approaches to prevent that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u00bbNo package index, but community-driven feature development.\u00ab Ideas are collected, and the ones with the most votes are included in the roadmap.<\/li><li>\u00bbSubmission proposal that is coupled to precise quality and maintenance requirements.\u00ab<\/li><li>\u00bbTwo-tiered system with both an \u203aofficial\u2039 index and a \u203acommunity\u2039 index.\u00ab<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More information on the approaches can be found in the post \u00bb<a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/cli\/2017\/07\/05\/how-should-we-embark-upon-new-feature-development\/\">How should we embark upon new feature development?<\/a>\u00ab by Daniel Bachhuber.
