Tide

Tide 1.0.0 beta

Tide is a tool with the vision »to make it easy to improve the quality of code throughout the WordPress ecosystem and help WordPress site owners make better choices about plugins and themes«, as written on wptide.org. The goal is to implement it on WordPress.org, to show helpful data for themes and plugins, like the PHP compatibility.

Currently, it can check if a project follows the PHP WordPress Coding Standards and the PHP version compatibility. Among that, the now-released first beta version introduces support for Google Lighthouse, to check for performance, accessibility, and more. Besides other ways, you can install the tool locally. If you want to check out the data that are returned by Tide, try the API on wptide.org/search.

More on the first beta can be found in the post »Announcing Tide 1.0.0-beta« by Jeffrey Paul.
